Inquisition Torture Thumbscrew This interesting example of crime and punishment. This large device weighting almost 45KG, has multiple functions from crushing the hand, thumb and other implements such as pliers. The hand is locked into place and the thumbs placed in respective area and the other fingers are crushed in a vice which is studded. The piece is likely from the 19th century to 20th century and has been heavily repaired as is apparent from modern repairs in several areas.
