Yoroi Japanese Armour Edo Period Circa 18th Century. High quality and elegant ni-mai-do-gusoku type armor en-suite complete matching black lacquered blue silk lacing Edo period antique complete as shown. Suji-bashi kabuto with early o-yoroi elements, 36 plates of iron, black and brown lacquered, with shinodare, finely decorated tehen-kanamono, gilded and with shakudo, 5-piece kiritsuke-kozane shikoro, bottom plate with printed suede (egawa ) and gilded cord edge(fukurin), screen(mabizashi) also with e-gawa and fukurin. Above this is a finely decorated kuwagata-dai with a gilded crest and a round badge (kasa-zurishi) in the centre. Large side plates (fukigaeshi) in o-yoroi style with e-gawa and fukurin. The face mask (menpo) is neri-gawa (pressed cowhide leather with 8 layers of lacquer), lacquered in black and has a mustache made of boar bristles. She has a 5-plate throat guard (yodare-kake), the last plate with e-gawa and fukurin. The 2-part, plastically formed breastplate (ni mai do) is painted black. Attached are 5-plate kusazuri in kiritsuke-kozane, each end plate with e-gawa and fukurin. The large shoulder plates (o-sode) in kritsuke-kozane, painted black, end plates with e-gawa and fukurin. The classic large decorative bars with retaining ring (kogai-kanamono) are applied. They are made of shakudo with gilded elements, including the owner’s clan coat of arms (ka-mon). The arm armor (kote) with silk lining consists of sewn-on chain mail (kusari) in the upper arm area, and iron plates on the forearms that are close together. The shin armor (shino-suneate) are made in the same style. The thigh apron (haidate) is studded with small black lacquered iron plates overlapping (kawara-haidate). The armor includes 2 transport boxes (yoroi-bitsu) They have the original leather covers, painted with the owner’s golden ka-mon.
