9th Century Medieval Viking Brazil Nut Sword A rarely seen Cruxifix form sword, from one of the most interesting period of medieval history. This high quality sword in intact condition is fitted with a brazil nut pommel and is a very interesting longer example. The sword made of high quality steel could point it it being a Frankish sword or made of Frankish steel which was known for its superior quality. These highly prized swords or steel would have been taken during their conquest of the Franks The sword itself is in excellent condition and is sturdy and secure, the blade with its double fuller shows the age and trauma of multible battles, from the surface to the edges of the sword. The guard also displays many scars as you would expect. The handle is likley a later addtion but not modern. The blade also has the remains of the cataloging number as this sword once sat in the archive of the Spanish civil war musuem till around 1936.
