WW2 Original British Captain “Michael V Herbert” The Buffs (Royal East Kent Regiment) A very desirable item for all collectors of WW2. This inform belonged to one of my neighbours who I have know since child hood, Captain M. Herbert. This gentleman was a officer who served with distinction in WW2 and post WW2. He moved to Malta later on after his service. He was stationed also in India and also boasted about having been part of the Shanghai Police forces. Captain Herbert was an expect with machinery and had extensive equipment in his home. When I was a boy waiting for the school bus, he would trek up and down the steep hill that leads to our residences for 20 plus times daily, sporting a black beret. This continued into his 80’s with the use of his cane, needless to say the fighting spirit of the infantry officer remained strong. Having served myself in an infantry regiment I was very honoured when the curators of his estate offered me his uniform which included two hats, several shirts. and three jackets. One dated from WW2 and the other two being olive green from the 50’s. The Uniform also came with a few pins and some other canvas straps which are likely from his webbing gear. Enquire Now
